1. January

06.01 all over the country: „Epiphany” (Boboteaza) Celebration. Christians and Lay Traditions: Carols, Incantations, Magic Rithuals.
Second week: Transylvania County - Deva: „Calusarul Transilvanean”, folk festival.
30.01 The Three Saint Hierarchs (Vasile the Great, Grigore the Theologian and Ioan Chrisostomos). Celebrated in Moldova, at the „Trei Ierarhi” Church in Iasi.

2. February

01.02 Wallachia: „Arezanul Viilor” also called „Gurbanul Viilor”. Wine celebration with festive dinner, dancers and singers.
11-12.02 Harghita County: „The bury of the winter”.
15.02 Bistrita-Nasaud County: „Borgo Valley wedding escort”.

3. March

01.03: „Martisor” celebration of the rebirth of life after the hard winter. Men offer small amulets – mostly good luck symbols to the ladies. The amulets have a red and white silk thread attached to them symbolizing the meeting of the cold and hot season.
13.03 South of the country: „The Cuckoos Day”, masked dance.
Neamt County; Baile Felix: „Festival of Gypsy Songs and Dances”.
Covasna County - Sfantu Gheorghe: „Farsangul” – Hungarian folk tradition.

4. April

19-20.04: Bistrita County - Mocod village: „The three Magi” – Mystic custom related to the spring agricultural works.
20-26.04: Maramures County – Surdesti & Sugatag villages: „The Wetter” – first peasant start ploughing.
Buzau County – Patarlagele: „The Cuckoo Fair”.
Maramures County - Viseu de Sus: folklore festival of the co-inhabiting minorities.
Valcea County - Pietrari village: „Costumes Hora”, contest of traditional handicrafts.
Transilvania County - Sibiu: „The Potters Fair”, pottery fair.
All over the country: Easter Celebration.
The second Monday after Easter Brasov County:”The Junii Holiday & Parade”:
The Young Junii use to gather in Zimen's courtyard, where the old people say "Craisorul" (the most important ruler of Tara Barsei who fought for independence) was buried. The next stop is on Tuesday, in Prund, where Craisorul had the commandment house. On Wednesday, the Young Junii and the Old Junii are continuing their procession to Pietrele lui Solomon, where it is supposed to be Craisorul's citadel and the place where he died while he was trying to get away from his enemies. On Thursday, Junii use to go to Poalele Dorului, where the legends say Craisorul buried a treasure. The procession ends on Friday, when the Young Junii are getting involved in some kind of a competition trying to prove who is the best.

5. May

09-15.05 Suceava County - Marginea: „Clay Chronicle”, pottery festival
12-13.05 Banat County - Timisoara: “La curtile dorului” National Folk Festival for Youth
The third week after the Easter all over the country: „The Rainmakers Game” (Paparudele), pre-christian tradition. A naked girl walk along the village and dance for calling the rain, accompanied by a girls-procession.
17-23.05 Suceava County - Bilca: „The Old Men Dance Festival”
27-28.05 Banat County - Timisoara: the Festival of traditions and customs of ethnic minorities
Arad County - Vinga: „The Liliac festival”.
Second Sunday: Mures County - Gurghiu: „The Maiden Fair”, local folk event, spring festival.

6. June

02-03.06 Harghita County - Miercurea Ciuc (Simleu Ciuc Village): On the Catholic Whitsunday, the most important catholic pilgrimage in Eastern Europe.
07/08.06 Bistrita-Nasaud County (Caianul Mare, Caianul Mic & Taure villages): „The decking aut of the ox” (Instrutatul boului), ancient customs related to the Whitsunday.
06-12.06 Suceava County - Horodnic: „The folk customs Parade”
13-19.06 Suceava County - Straja: „The Wedding Customs Festival”
16.06 Bistrita-Nasaud County - Bistrita: Folklore International Festival „Zamfira’s Wedding”.
18.06 All over the country: „Rusaliile”, christians and pre-christians traditions. „Calusarii’s Game”. Many young men dance a complicate rithual beeing co-ordinated by a wizard.
20-26.06 Suceava County - Putna: „The Putna Fest”

21-22.07 Apuseni Mountains (Western carpathians): „The maiden fair from Gaina Mountain”, folkloric cerebration and fair. The young girls from the neighborough villages come on the mountain and search for a husband.

23-25.07 Maramures County - Vadu Izei village: „The Weddings Festival”.
25.07 Lapus County - Stoicesti village: „The festival of songs, dances and folk-costumes in Lapus County”.

Second Sunday: Maramures County: „Hora de la Prislop”. People from Maramures, Suceava and Bistrita counties come here on the Prislop Pass (between Maramures and Bucovina) for a song, dances and folk costumes festival.
