Danube Delta is a lost corner of nature, an unique universe where live over 300 species of birds, over 160 species of fishes, 1150 species of plants and more than 2000 couples of pelicans.

Sfântu Gheorghe, Uzlina, Tulcea: three localities born out of sea, as fishing villages, on the major points of the Delta; places of a real ecological purity, paradise of birds and flora, specific to the marine and deltaic zones.

For those who are fond of angling, the area offers opportunities for fishing crap, cat-fish, pike, perch, zander, crucian crap, tench and marine fishing of turbot, grey mullet and shark.

The meals are in basis of Romanian and fishing cuisine, beeing prepared in basis of locals recipes, as: roast pike perch with lemon souce, grilled sheat fish with boiled potatoes and garlic juice, sheat fish roll, filled pike, force-fish rolls in cabbage (or in vine leaves), mild pepper filled with fish, pike-perch with mayonnaise, , sheat fish and pike perch sour soup and many more.
The local beverages are “caisata” and the drobrodjan white wine.

Routes from Sf. Gheorghe for fast or motor boats (4-8 hours/day):

1. The Lakes Circuit: Sf. Gheorghe village - Tataru Channel – Rosulet Lake – Rosu Lake – near Potcoava (the horse shoe) Lake; short break in Rosu Camping; continue the route through Puiu Lake – Mocansca Channel – Erneciuc Lake – Sf. Gheorghe Canal; back to Sf. Gheorghe village (6 –8 hours)
2. Pelicans Bay; wild region, in the middle of Danube Delta where one can see the wild life in their own habitat (4 – 6 hours);
3. Returning to the Blue Lagoon: Walking by rowing or motor-boat through the narrowest channels in Danube Delta (4 hours)
4. Water Lily Channel: Sf. Gheorghe village - Tataru Channel - Sheppard Channel; half-day trip to one of the greates views in Danube Delta: a full water lily channel with all types and colours of water lily; (4 hours)
5. Fishing chalets: Sf. Gheorghe village - Sf. Gheorghe canal - Buhaz Channel – Zaton Lake – Ciotica Channel - Seashore; return to Sf. Gheorghe village (6 hours)

6. Wild-life experience: Sf. Gheorghe village – Sf. Gheorghe Canal - Dranov Channel - Dranov Lake - Holbina Bay (pelicans collonies) - the Razim Lagoon; returning on Tarata Channel (12 hours)
