Complex-architectural complex (Peles Castle, Pelisor, Corpul

of Peles river, in a special place, with a picturesque view, represents
the most looked for destination in Prahova Valley. Peles Castle
was built during the years 1875-1883, being used by king Carol I
as a summer residence; after his death(1914) the castle becomes
a museum. Monumental construction if we look at the appearance,
the castle was built in a German Renaissance style, but inside we
find over 160 rooms that reveal different styles and cultures( German
Renaissance, Italian, English, German baroque, French rococo, Spanish).
Pelisor Castle is situated to a few hundred meters from the Peles
castle and it was built during 1899-1903, having the same architectural
style: German Renaissance. Foisorul, the hunting cottage was built
in the same time with the castle; after a horrible fire(1931), it
was rebuilt at the request of Carol II. Corpul de Garda was built
in the same time with the castle but it was rebuilt during 1908-1909
having the same architectural model. Economatul being a German Burg
model, was initially built to serve as a modest home , but later
it was rebuilt and nowadays it is a hotel.
