Familly tour of Romania

Day 1: Arrival on the International Airport Bucharest Otopeni; meeting with your guide and mini-van; departure to Sinaia; accommodation and dinner at 4* hotel in Sinaia.

Day 2: Visit the Peles and Pelisor Castles and Sinaia monastery. Departure to Bran, where one can see one of the best known castles in the world: the Bran Castle, also known as the "Castle from Carpathians" (Jules Verne) and another possible location of the Dracula Castle. Lunch in Bran. After visiting the castle, departure to Brasov. Sightseeing tour of the city, including the Black Church, the Old Town Council Square and building, the St. Nicolae Church. Drive forward to Sighisoara. Accommodation and dinner at 3* hotel, near Sighisoara.

Day 3: Visit Sighisoara, the best preserved mediaeval citadel in Europe and the only one still fully inhabited. The sightseeing tour include a visit in the Tower Museum, feeling the attractions of the ...Torture Room, visit the Mediaeval Weapons Collection, the house where Vlad Dracula was born (now a cozy restaurant) and the Cover Stairs. Leaving to Bistrita, another mediaeval citadel. City break and lunch. Departure to Borgo Pass, for meeting with the main character of Bram Stocker's novell: the Count Dracula!!. Spend one night in the Dracula' Castle, placed in the very top of the mountains.

Day 4: Departure in the morning to the painted monasteries land of Bucovina. First attraction: Moldovita monastery, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, for its outdoor frescoes. This monastery is shelter one of the most important UNESCO distinction: the Golden Apple. Follow the other UNESCO objectives: the Sucevita monastery, the Humor Monastery, and the best one, the Voronet Monastery, surnamed "the Sistine Chapel of the East". On the way, visit the black pottery masters from Marginea village and take the lunch in Sucevita, at the Bucovina Restaurant. Dinner and accommodation at 3* hotel.

Day 5: Free day at your disposal, in the beautiful land of Bucovina. Lunch at the hotel. Later in the afternoon (about 17.00), departure to Piatra Neamt. Dinner and accommodation at 3* hotel, in Piatra Neamt.

Day 6: Departure to Bicaz gorges, the most impressive gorges all over Carpathians (in fact is a canyon). Passing through the gorges and drive straight to a beautiful mountain resort, named the Red Lake resort. Lunch in the Red Lake resort. Departure to Targu Mures. Accommodation and dinner at 3* hotel in Targu Mures.

Day 7: Departure from Targu Mures to Sibiu, via Biertan. In Biertan, visit another UNESCO monument: the Saxon fortified church, included in the same List of World Heritage. Sightseeing tour by foot of the historical centre of Sibiu, including The Big Square, the Little Square, the Liar's Bridge, the Stairs Passage and the Bruckental Palace which shelter the Art Museum. Lunch in Sibiu, in "Crama Veche" restaurant (Romanian cuisine). In the afternoon, relaxing in the Dumbrava Park, where was established one of the most important Village Museums in Europe: "ASTRA" Museum of Traditional Popular Civilisations from Romania. Accommodation and dinner at 3* hotel in Sibiu.

Day 8: The last day before departure is dedicated to Wallachia. From Sibiu, you will follow the Olt narrow pass, and cross the mountains accompanied by the beautiful landscape of Cozia Mountains. First stop: Curtea de Arges, where one can see a splendid monastery covered by legends. Lunch in Curtea de Arges. The route is driving you to Targoviste, one of the first residence of the princely court of Wallachia. From here, you will go straight to Bucharest, where you will accommodate at 3* hotel, in the very downtown of the capithal of Romania. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9: A short sightseeing tour is included before your departure. Depending of the hour of your flight, we can include visits to the Palace of Parliament (the second largest building in the world after the US Pentagon and the first one in Europe) and the Cotroceni Museum. Transfer to the International Bucharest Airport for your flight home.
