Necropolis and mortuary buildings in Romania

Day 1: Bucharest. Arrival on International Airport Bucharest Otopeni. Dinner and accommodation in 3* Hotel Central or similar in Bucharest.

Day 2: Breakfast. Departure to Targoviste (the execution place of Ceausescu’s dictatorial family - Nicolae Ceausescu & Elena Ceausescu). Drive on to Mateiasu Mausoleum where you can see the biggest human skulls and bones exhibition in Romania.
Departure to Sighisoara, via Brasov. Dinner and accommodation in 3* Hotel Europa or similar in Sighisoara.

Day 3: Breakfast. Sighisoara. Sightseeing tour of the citadel. Visit the Torture Chamber and the Mediaeval Weapons Collection. Short rest (…in peace ?!?) in The Graveyard on the Hill. Departure to Baia Mare, via Bistrita. Dinner and accommodation in Hotel Carpati or similar, 3* in Baia Mare.

Day 4: Breakfast. Departure to Sighetul Marmatiei, where we visit the former prison for politic convicteds in Communist System now called “Memorial to Arrested Thought”. Visit the Merry Cemeterry in Sapanta, open-air museum, unique in the world, with happy epitaphs wooden-carved on the funeral monuments by local craftsman Stan Patras.
Drive on to Dracula Castle, where you’ll spend a long and frightened night. Festive dinner in the castle’s catacombes. Live one night with Dracula. I can swear I’ve seen once the shadow of Dracula in there and I’m positive you will also see Dracula if you really want. But …do you really wanna see him?

Day 5: Breakfast with the ones who are still alive. Departure as fast as we can from Dracula’s Castle and drive on to Bucharest. In the way, we make a short stop in Snagov, where we can see the Dracula’s Burial Chambre and the Dracula Tombstone which lies the bones supposed to belong to Dracula. The tombstone of Dracula is situated in a church placed in the middle of an island in Snagov Lake. Dinner and accommodation in 3* Hotel Central or similar in Bucharest.

Day 6: Breakfast. Visit Ghencea Graveyard, where the Ceausescu’s family is buried, the Palace of Parliament, also called The House of the People, second largest building in the world, and the Museum of Legally Medicine (in the Morgue Building) which shelter exhibits like tattoos of the famous convicteds, skulls, bones, human bodies and many surprises. Transfer to the International Airport Otopeni for your flight home.
