1: Arrival in Bucharest International Airport at 14.05 with
Lufthansa flight. Meeting with the guide and the minibus. Transfer to
Sinaia. Day
2: Breakfast. Visit the Peles Castle, the summer residence
of the King Carol I of Romania, built in neo-renaissance German style
between 1875 - 1883, the most beautiful castle in Romania. Visit the
Sinaia Monastery. Departure to Bran, where one can see one of the most
important legends of the world: The Castle of Dracula, from Transylvania.
Departure to Brasov. Lunch at the Aro Palace Restaurant, 4*. Day
3: Breakfast. Departure to Botiza. On the way, stop in Sighisoara
and visit the only medieval citadel in Europe that is fully inhabited
(german style); mentioned in 1280 as “Castrum Sex”; sightseeing
tour of the city, including the Clock Tower Museum, the Cover Stairs,
the Mediaeval Weapons Museum, the Torture Room and the Church on the
Hill. Day
4: Breakfast. Visit the wooden civilisation of Maramures, one
of the most ancient civilisation in Europe, which has a lot of Dacians
and pre-Christians symbols. Drive to Sapanta via Sighetul Marmatiei.
Visit the Merry Cemetery (unique in the world) and the Folk Art Museum.
Passing through Mara Valley, you can admire the famous Romanian wooden
carved gates. Travel to Surdesti to see the wooden church “Sfintii
Arhangheli” - the second tallest wooden construction in Europe.
In Barsana, one can see the tallest wooden building in Europe –
62 metters. Day 5: Breakfast. Departure to Borgo Pass. Short break at the Dracula’s Castle, in Borgo Pass. Visit the painted monasteries of Bucovina (included in UNESCO World Heritage List): Moldovita Monastery, Sucevita Monastery, Voronet Monastery (the most important, well known as “the Sistine Chappel of the East”). Visit the pottery masters in Marginea (black pottery). Lunch in Sucevita, at the Bucovina Hotel. Overnight in Suceava, in Arcasul Continental Hotel, 3*, in the city centre, the best hotel in town (250 km) Day 6: Breakfast. Departure to Dragomirna Monastery. Return to Suceava and departure to Targu Neamt. Visit the Neamt monastery. Lunch in Targu Neamt, in the “Archers House” Restaurant. Departure to Piatra Neamt. On the way, visit the Monasteries of Agapia and Varatec. Dinner and accommodation in Piatra Neamt in Hotel Central, 3* (140 km) Day 7: Breakfast. Departure to Bicaz Gorges, the most impressive gorges in Romania. Short break and walk in the gorges. Lunch in Lacu Rosu resort, in “The Sunshine” Restaurant. Half-an-hour walking on the lake, by boats. Departure to Brasov. On the way, visit the fortified church from Prejmer. Dinner and overnight in Aro Palace Hotel, 4*, in Brasov (285 km) Day 8: Breakfast. Departure to Bucharest. Sightseeing tour of the city, including the Palace of Parliament, the tallest building in Europe and the second biggest building in the world, after the USPentagon, the Victoriei Avenue, the Unirii Square, the University Square (place where the Romanian Revolution from 1989 started), the Archbishop’s Palace and Church, the Romanian Paysant Museum. Lunch in Bucharest (Bucur House Restaurant, hystorical building, architectural reservation). Overnight in Bucharest, in Bucuresti Hotel, 4*, in the city centre of Bucharest (180 km).
