Day
1: (Tuesday) a) Budapest – Satu Mare –
Baia Mare (~400 km):
b) Budapest–Oradea–Cluj Napoca (Klausenburg)-Baia Mare (~530
km):
Departure from Budapest in the morning; meet your Romanian guide at
the border and drive to Baia Mare; on the way, short sightseeing tours
in Satu Mare or Oradea and Cluj Napoca; lunch (optional); accommodation
and dinner in Carpati Hotel or similar 3*.
Day
2: (Wednesday) Baia Mare – Sighetul Marmatiei
- Sapanta – Rozavlea – Sucevita (~292 km):
Breakfast. Departure to Sighetul Marmatiei (visit the former political
prison, now called “the Memorial to Arrested Thought” and
the village museum); arrival at Sapanta where we visit the “Merry
Cemetery” which is unique in the world. Driving along the valley
of Iza, we visit some of the highest wooden churches in Europe and we
arrive in Sucevita (traditional village); accommodation and dinner in
Bucovina Hotel-Villa or similar 4*.
Day
3: (Thursday) Sucevita – Vatra Moldovitei –
Sucevita – Voronet – Piatra Neamt (~192 km):
Breakfast. We start the monasteries tour including Moldovita, Sucevita
and Voronet, all of them being listed on UNESCO heritage list. You can
admire the outdoor frescoes while learning about the Romanian history.
Arrival in Piatra Neamt and sightseeing tour; accommodation and dinner
in Central Hotel 3* .
Day
4: (Friday) Piatra Neamt – Bicaz Gorges – the Red Lake –
Sighisoara – Brasov (Kronstadt) (~305 km):
Breakfast. We shall leave early in the morning towards Bicaz Gorges;
time to walk through the gorges and to admire the landscape; short stop
at the “Red lake” (natural lake) and continue to Sighisoara
– the only medieval fortress in Europe which is still inhabited;
sightseeing tour of the city and departure to Brasov; accommodation
and dinner in Capitol Hotel 3*.

5: (Saturday) Brasov – Sinaia – Bran Castle - Sibiu (~260
km):
Breakfast. Sightseeing tour of the city, including the Schei Gate and
District (architectural site), the Black Church – the largest
gothic monument in Eastern Europe, St. Nicholas Cathedral, “Junii
Brasovului” Museum, Ecaterina’s Gate). Departure to Bran
Castle (Dracula’s Castle) – the symbol of Transylvania.
Arrival in Sinaia; visit Peles Castle and its surroundings – the
former summer residence of the Romanian Royal family. Departure to Sibiu;
accommodation and dinner in Continental Hotel or similar 3*.
Day 6: (Sunday) Sibiu – Alba Iulia – Hunedoara –
Arad – Budapesta (~575 km)
Breakfast. Sightseeing tour of the city, including the Museum of Traditional
Civilization “Astra”, the Art Museum “Bruckental”
– one of the best art galleries in Romania, the historic center,
the Liar’s Bridge. Departure to Hunedoara Castle passing through
Alba-Iulia (short tour of the city); after visiting the castle, drive
to Arad and towards Hungary.
